Pack Customs and Holidays
Customs
Connection to the Past: The packs are very connected to the past and their history. One could almost describe them as superstitious. Shamans are the closest, and it is their job to interpret the signs. The pack will follow these signs without question. (Admins play the five founders as necessary. PM the one who plays the respective founder, or any admin if the role is not specifically taken)
New Moon Meetings: Every time when the moon is done-the new moon- the packs meet at the center of their territories, where there is a neutral clearing.
Challenging the Alpha: If another wolf wishes to challenge the alpha, they are allowed to. There are very few rules. It can be a fight to the death unless one wolf backs down. Neither wolf is allowed to receive help from another, and the looser is demoted, or exiled, depending on the new (or remaining) alpha's preference.
Pack Respect: The packs respect one another, and are aware that they cannot fully and completely annihilate each other, as well as an unwillingness to repeat history of wiping out one species or group of wolves.
Moving Through Ranks: There are differences in packs in this process, but the basics of it is that a wolf may either earn his way to the top, or outright challenge a wolf of higher status for the rank. This varies from pack to pack, and alpha to alpha.
Holidays
The Takeover: The exact dates of this event have been lost to time, but it is celebrated on the second new moon of the winter. The wolves from all packs gather together to celebrate this with games and a night of peace.
The Split: Again, the exact date has been lost. But every second full moon of summer, this is celebrated within the packs with games to test their powers.
